The accidental post about television

  • Does anyone else still watch The Hills? I do. I can’t help it, it’s like a terrible car accident on the side of the road. You know you shouldn’t look, but you just can’t stop yourself. The last season seems like it’s going to be the most ridiculous yet. Please tell me you saw Spencer with his crystals! LOL, this guy is clearly putting on a show to get attention, and he is more desperate than ever, because his only claim to fame is going to be over in a few short months. AND Heidi told one of the girls that she really wanted her new boobs to be H's?!?! For Heidi!!! Hahaha!! That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! You know what I don’t understand? Why do these people who don’t like each other hang out together? It’s so obvious that these scenes are set up purely for the show. At least when Lauren was on it, it appeared that, for the most part, people hung out with each other because they were friends. Whatever. I will still watch it :)
  • You can't talk about The Hills without mentioning The City! I love The City! What's not to love? You have Whitney Port and Kelly Cutrone. I love how Kelly is so blunt but she also had that softer side that you don't see all that often. Well, I suppose there is one thing not to love, and her name is Olivia! Can we say jealous?! That's the only explanation I can possibly think of to why she is such a butch to Whitney this season. How does that girl even keep a job with her attitude? I'm honestly not a huge fan of Erin either, who works with Olivia at Elle. I do like that she immediately sensed Olivia's sense of entitlement to everything, but she is in charge of Olivia and she does not act very professional about it.
  • Have you watched Parenthood? It's new this year and I LOVE this show! It's so great, and I like all of the story lines. Plus, it have Lorelai Gilmore in it, how can you not love her? (speaking of Gilmore Girls, Luke is on 90210 now! I think it was only a couple episodes, but he's the dad of a main character!)
  • American Idol is winding down for the season. I think there are 5 (4?) left. My favorites are Crystal and Lee. I actually didn't like Lee at all when they announced he made it on the show, but after his first 2 performances, I definitely became a fan! I really want Crystal to win though!
  • The Real Housewives of New Jersey. I have been waiting for this to come back on, and now that it is, I don't know why I was so anxious. I'm sad because I want to like the show more than I do. I just don't know how much longer they can drag this situation with Danielle out. And that's like the only story line they have going. Seriously? If you don't like someone then don't text them congratulations that your daughter is a model!! They are just so dramatic about it. And Danielle is a NUTCASE! Who throws themself a party because their daughter made a magazine cover?! And the daughter isn't even invited! If I were the daughter, my feelings would be hurt. It's kind of like when my mom was going to have a grandma shower because I was pregnant. I won't go there.
  • Fringe! I don't have anything to discuss about this show, but I can't have a post about tv shows I watch without including this favorite of mine. And so that I can include a picture of my boyfriend on the side :)
  • I'm excited for The Bachelorette with Ali to start! I think it is set to start this month? I'm not positive, but I will definitely be watching! I think that Reality Steve already has some spoilers up, if you like to ruin it for yourself, which I do!
  • Speaking of new shows, the new season of So You Think You Can Dance starts at the end of the month!!!!! This is my favorite show EVER and I'm so so excited! This season, they are only taking 10 new contestants to the top 20. Then they are going to be paired with 10 of the past contestants. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but it will be interesting for sure :)
I didn't start out to write a post about television, somehow that just happened! Haha, maybe I should get a life? I have just always loved tv, and especially reality tv. Sadly, I watch a LOT more shows than just this, but these were the ones that sprung to mind as I typed. :)

Today I am ONE MONTH from my due date! I can't believe that I'm so close to having him!

Just for Fun!

Taylor over at The Undomestic Mama posted this several days ago and I thought it would be fun!

The Game of Tag about your MAN:

Who is your man? Lee

How long have you been together? Hmmm, we just talked about this the other night. I think we decided 4 years (on the 20
th!!) We couldn’t remember if it was 4 or 5, but I think it is 4. It feels like forever, but in the GOOD way! :)

How long did you date? 19 months before we got engaged (Too long if you ask me, I asked for my ring all the time :) Yes, I was one of those girls, but when you know, you know! *
ahem* and I wanted a baby! Ha)

How old is your man? 28

Who eats more? Him, although that’s questionable these days

Who said "I love you" first? Technically, I did, but he said I barely beat him to it

Who is taller? Him

Who sings better? He never sings so I couldn’t tell you. I am TERRIBLE, but I do it all the time. Only in front of him though, no one else! He is so lucky.

Who is smarter? Him. We discussed this the other night also, lol, we have really interesting conversations, huh? He asked what grades I got in high school, I said I never did anything and got A’s and B’s and his response was that he never did anything and got A’s and A+’s. Well, excuse me!! Nerd.

Whose temper is worse? I get angry easier, but you don’t want to be around him when he’s mad!

Who does the laundry? He washes, I fold and put away. I know this is NOT normal and I never take it for granted!

Who takes out the garbage? Ew, he does

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? When you’re looking at the bed, I sleep on the right side. You know, they say that’s the “power” side :) I’M THE BOSS!

Who pays the bills? Like most things, this is also teamwork. He has a couple things, I have a couple things, and the rest is auto drafted. But I’m controlling and tell him when and how much to pay on his stuff because I’m obsessed with balancing the checkbook (like I do it every day. I can tell you to the penny how much moolah we have, uh, or DON’T have :) )

Who is better with the computer? Definitely me when it comes to PC’s! I don’t mean to toot my own horn or anything, but…well my parents taught computers when I was growing up so there’s that. And I guess Mac’s now too, since I have one, although I wouldn’t say I’m good that them. Not one bit. I couldn’t figure out how to bookmark websites for like 2 weeks! I seriously need Mac for Dummies.

Who mows the lawn? Him! He’s so good with the lawn. People compliment it all the time :)

Who cooks dinner? I cook. Once when we first lived together I asked him to cook a piece of chicken, like sauté it on the stove, and he was like, what do I do? Lol, I had no idea he couldn’t cook. He does the dishes (we are so good at teamwork! Lol)

Who drives when you are together? Him, ALWAYS. He never lets me drive. I think he thinks I can’t drive.

Who pays when you go out? Uh, usually him I guess. It all comes from the same place though, haha

Who is most stubborn? DEFINITELY ME!

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? NEVER ME! (in my defense, I am rarely wrong ;) )

Whose parents do you see the most? Mine because they live here and they don’t make us want to institutionalize ourselves.

Who asked who out? Um, him I guess? We met when we were out, then hung out pretty much every night after that because of mutual friends. I know that we did have a date in there somewhere though.

Who proposed? Him, duh!

Who wears the pants in the family? LOL. I would like to say me, but I think he’s just good at letting me think I wear the pants :)

Ahhh Productivity!!

If there's one word I would NOT use to describe the majority of this pregnancy, it would be productive! However, I have turned the corner (somewhat) in the past few weeks. Hooray!!

We picked out carpet last month, and it was installed last week. I cannot explain to you how happy the carpet makes me, it's kind of sad really. Our house was built in the 50's, and in our neck of the woods, that means that it (most likely) has original hardwood floors. When we moved in, there was carpet in the bedrooms. I didn't understand why anyone would cover up hardwoods! Even if they did need to be refinished, I was okay with that. Lee was NOT in agreement with me. He didn't want to pull the carpet up at all. He was convinced that the hardwoods would be in poor condition. Have I ever mentioned how stubborn and hard headed I am? Um, yeah. I am REALLY stubborn and hard headed. So one day after about a year of being in the house, I decided to pull up the carpet in the office. The floors were not a complete disaster, but they definitely could have been better. So, I moved on to the master bedroom, still against Lee's will. Well, in the words of my dear friend Jackie, WHOA em gee. The hardwoods were terrible to say the least!! Lesson learned. Sometimes Lee is right. (I mean, not often, but sometimes) That put a halt to my carpet pulling up and I left the guest bedroom alone. Last week I found out that that was a MARVELOUS decision, I'll show you why!

So for the past 18 months or so, I have hated living with these disastrous hardwoods and we kept going back and forth between carpet or refinishing. I cursed them everyday. So lsat Thursday was a WONDERFUL day!! I have never been a fan of carpeting, but I LOVE this carpet. LOVE IT!! I feel like we moved to a different house, and it makes the rooms look a lot bigger, so that's a fun bonus.

Here are some before and afters:

Master Bedroom Before, not the best picture (we do have a real bed, but this is what we slept on the night before bc they were supposed to come at 8am to install. What time they actually came is a different story)

Office Before:
Office After:
Guest Room/now Cooper's Room. That is lime green and cream LINOLEUM!!! SO glad I didn't pull the carpet up in there!!
Cooper's Room After:

In addition to the carpet, we have been cleaning out closets and rooms and organizing our hearts out. I'm not sure if this is nesting, because I used to do this stuff pre-pregnancy all the time, but I sure am happy that I have my motivation back! We have also been working on getting the bookcases we built a year ago finished. We are having cabinet doors made for them right now, so we're just waiting for those to come in and then we can wrap up that project!

Cooper's bedding comes in tomorrow and I am so excited to see it!! I ordered it from a place online that does custom bedding so I have yet to see it in person. I hope it turned out like what I have envisioned. I plan on doing a post about his room when it's all finished. And at the rate we're going, that will be approximately 7 weeks after he is born :)

Cooper in 4D

So the other night I wrote this huge post about new things going on with Cooper and all about our visit when we went to see him in 4D, and I saved it because I hadn't downloaded the pictures to my computer yet. Then I got on tonight to add the pictures and the post was gone!

So, in a nutshell, we had a 4D ultrasound last week! Well, one 2 weeks ago and another last week. At the first appointment we learned that he was head down and facing my back, which is great in my opinion because that's how he needs to be to be born, so he can just stay put if he likes! Buuut, it's not such a great position for getting his picture taken! Not to mention he was asleep the entire time, and he is NEVER asleep, trust me! I thought we got some good pictures, considering, but the tech wanted us to come back the following week to see if he had flipped over. When we went back, he hadn't flipped (which I could have told you) and we got even less of a look because he kept covering his face the entire time!

Between the two visits, we got to see his chubby little cheeks (he has some seriously pinchable cheeks!), his legs and a foot, and lots and lots of his hands and arms! He has these huge lips, from whom I have NO idea, and he has my nose, unfortunately for him! I was really hoping that he didn't have my nose! Of course, since he was laying on his face, his nose was squished, so it might not really look like that :) Both Lee and I thought that he looked quite a but like me! I was surprised because I think babies always look so much like their daddies :) The tech also showed us that he has quite a bit of hair, so that was fun!

Okay, enough of that, here he is!

He gave us lots of smiles on the first visit!

These are from the second visit. This is about the only face shot we got! After that he yawned a LOT and covered his face up.
Annnnd here is what we saw the rest of the time, his hand over his face!
I already couldn't wait to meet him, but after we got to see him in these pictures, I am anticipating it even more! Only 9 more weeks! I can't believe we are in the single digits already, I feel like the whole pregnancy has gone by SUPER fast.

New Blog!

Okay, basically, I was having some issues with unwanted readers on my last blog. Some people were reading my blog and taking my pictures and then posting them on Facebook without telling me or even asking me if they could, and they were pictures of ME.

I struggled with what to do. The way I saw it, I had 3 options: make my blog private (which I don't like), stop blogging altogether, or make a new blog and NOT link it on my old one like I had with my second one. So, as annoying as it is, I just went with creating a new blog.

I tried to import all of my old posts into this blog, and I got most of them, but the comments are weird and if you try to leave a comment on any old posts, you get a weird error message. Really, I'm not concerned about that and I have no idea how to fix it, so I'm just going to go with it!

Coming to you live!!

From my very own computer!! Haha, why do I feel like my life is better with a computer? I have no idea, but I do. It took me about a year, but I finally talked Lee into letting me get a MacBook. It's definitely going to take some getting used to, but so far I like it a whole lot :)
We had a very productive weekend, and I, for one, love daylight savings time even if it means losing an hour. We registered for baby stuff on Friday. That was perhaps the most stressful thing I've ever done iItalicn my life. We made it about an hour and then I was exhausted and a little frustrated so we left and finished up online.

We also picked out new carpet for the bedrooms! You know you're old when you're excited for new carpet :) We have to go back (hopefully) this week to finalize our selections and then schedule a time for them to come and install it. Yay!

Let me tell you, I get worn out pretty easily these. On Saturday, we went to 2 carpet places, lunch, and one store in the mall and there is no way I could have done anything else if we had needed to. On Sunday, I ran 2 fairly quick errands and I was so tired I came home and laid on the couch! So weird. My feet also hurt a lot. And I mean, they hurt. Not like I'm wearing uncomfortable shoes, it just feels like I've been on them all day when I have only been on them for as little as 30 minutes. My hands are also swollen and my wedding rings are getting reallllly snug on there!

I have also started to lose my mind a little. I haven't been particularly forgetful, mostly because I'm so paranoid I'm going to forget something that I compulsively write everything down and make list after list. But, I have a hard time formulating sentences. Someone can ask me a simple question and I will have absolutely no idea what to say! I also have a hard time telling stories. I can get a couple of words out and then I am silent because I don't know what I was going to say or I get distracted or something! Haha, this is something that Lee has ALWAYS done. He can never get his stories out and I get frustrated and I'm like "AND?!?!" And now I'm the one doing it!

Cooper moves around ALL the time now! I've mostly heard it described as "fluttering" or bubbles, but to me, it feels just like a twitch. And I feel it almost 24 hours a day. I swear, he is only still for a few hours while I'm sleeping and other than that, he is going crazy in there. It makes me want to watch Look Who's Talking because I wonder what he's doing in there! Lee has gotten to see a lot of movement. He can see it from across the room, that's how much Cooper moves around. The other night, my entire belly jolted to one side and Lee was like "Whoa, was that you or him?!" And it was definitely not me!

This was the other night, just a few days past 27 weeks.
I hate the pictures with my face because I feel like I look so worn out, but I usually am because I always forget to take a picture until it's time to go to bed.

Here are my disgusting puppy dogs. They have a hair appointment on Thursday and that's about 3 weeks too late, ha! I'm a bad mom, but in my defense, I have a hair appointment on Saturday that's at least a month too late, so there's that.

March 2, 2010

Well, hello there

It's been a while, yes? Well, they blocked all social networking sites at work. I know, wtf, right? That's what I thought. And technically we don't have a home computer. Lee has a work laptop that he brings home. He is pretty, uh, busy on it in the evenings, you know, with "work" things such as reading about football for hours at a time. Yes, very important business, so you can understand how it might be difficult for me to borrow the computer for my very important business. :) But, I'm going to try and get back into posting more often, hopefully once a week or so. Because I know that you all miss me. :) I have been able to keep up with all of my favorite blogs. I can get to most of them, but I cannot see pictures (which is really the best part!) and I can't comment on any either!

Let's see, what has happened in the past 2 months? A lot, and not a lot at the same time. Let's start with the obvious. When I last posted, I looked something like this:

And today, I look something like this:

Just a little different :) I am 26 weeks this week, only 14 to go! I had a doctor's appointment today. This time when I stepped on the scale, I couldn't see my weight because my belly was in the way! First time that has happened. Turns out, that it might be a good thing that I can no longer see what I weigh. So far I have gained 23 lbs, 8 of which was in the last 4 weeks, haha. You can totally tell in my face :( As much as I would like to blame the baby, let's just be honest that it's really due to the fact that Easter candy is now out (Cadbury Mini Eggs are my ultimate weakness in life) (I might have eaten a bag a day for a few days) and my girl scout cookie order has arrived. I didn't order 9 boxes. No, no. I would never do that.

And here I was at 20 weeks:

The day we found out that this little one: (look at that little nose, it's my favorite part :) )
is a BOY!! To be honest, we were super surprised, because we were so sure that it was a girl. Or, as Lee put it, he was "preparing himself" for it to be a girl! Haha. He practically jumped out of his seat when she said "it looks like you guys are having a little boy" I mean, seriously, he was trying hard to contain his excitement because I was, not exactly disappointed, but just surprised. No joke, I asked the tech if she was sure! She said she was and showed us the goods. So that was about 6 weeks ago and now we absolutely cannot wait to meet our little Cooper Ethan. I mean, seriously, he can't get here soon enough, I am so ready to hold him!

Annnd, that's about all that has happened! I haven't done a thing to his room! We did order furniture, and much to our surprise, it was here in less than a week! We thought surely it would be 4-6 weeks for delivery, but it was more like 4-6 days. I have a few ideas of things that I want to do for his room, so I'll probably do a post on that sometime soon.
Other than that, I've been studying a lot for this real estate class I'm taking, surviving work by counting down the days to my maternity leave, and doing a whole lot of nothing.
This weekend we are registering at Babier R Us. I'm a little intimidated by this whole process, since I really have absolutely no idea what we will need. Usually I'm a huge planner, researcher, list-maker, etc. But, this time we are winging it. I've researched the big things, like safety features and such, but other than that, we're just going to go up and down every aisle and touch everything.
I'm also going to Oklahoma City this weekend for the John Mayer concert / my best friend's birthday!
AND we are going to look at new carpet for the bedrooms! VERY exciting, huh? I am excited because I have been begging for new carpet every since I just had to rip up the old carpet to reveal our very damaged hardwoods :) Lee told me that I shouldn't have. I never listen to anyone, I'll admit it :)
